About the work

Why Apply?

Let's hear from some new ROs after having completed their first election for the TEC:

Graeme, a recently retired senior executive was motivated to apply for a Returning Officer role as he was looking for short term project work and it sounded interesting. Here's a little of what Graeme shared about his experience:

"It was a roller coaster ride from beginning to end. A great learning experience supported by a wonderful and knowledgeable team from the TEC. "

Sherri, a part-time bookkeeper & busy Mum, applied for an Assistant Returning Officer role as she was looking to further expand her administration skills and experience. Here's a little of what she shared about her experience:

"My role as the ARO has been a very rewarding one. I would have to say that it has been a time of personal growth. I have done new things that initially I wasn't sure I could and stepped up to the challenges that were laid before me. I have learned things about myself ... for the most part I believe that I have come out the other side of this election as a better person. "
