This page provides information about the TEC's Impartial Assisted Voting service, including how it works, where and when it's available, and how to make a booking.
Impartial Assisted Voting is a professional, confidential and impartial voter service that is available to electors who require assistance completing a postal ballot.
Electors can book a 30-minute period on selected dates during the polling period for this King Island by-election.
The TEC employs independent, professional and experienced polling staff to help electors with the voting process. The elector can advise staff about the kind of assistance they require, which can include general guidance or assistance marking the ballot paper.
Electors using the service should bring with them the ballot pack they received by post. If the elector does not have their ballot pack, staff may assist them in applying for a supplementary ballot pack.
Once the voting process is complete, the staff member can assist the elector to place their completed postal vote in the ballot box onsite.
If required, there is the option for voters to receive car-side assistance. This means the voter can remain in their vehicle and vote while in the car with assistance from the staff member.
Electors can vote at the King Island Council offices at 10 George St, Currie, between 9 am and 4 pm, from Monday 23 September to Friday 27 September 2024.
Bookings for Impartial Assisted Voting are now closed.
Electors are strongly encouraged to have considered their voting preferences before arriving at their appointment
