To ensure the ongoing provision of high-quality electoral services for the Tasmanian community, the Tasmanian Electoral Commission is recruiting across key areas of the organisation.
The TEC is responsible for conducting independent and impartial elections and referendums for the people of Tasmania. This includes parliamentary and local government elections, statutory elections and non-statutory electoral services.
Multiple roles will be advertised over the coming months, within our Elections and Engagement, Legislation and Compliance, and Business Services teams.
You'll find an overview of current opportunities on this page, with further details available at jobs.tas.gov.au.
More positions expected to be advertised in January 2025.
One of the ways the TEC maintains its integrity is by ensuring that employees are, and are seen to be, politically neutral. The Anti-Discrimination Commissioner has granted the TEC an exemption under the Anti-Discrimination Act 1998, giving it discretion to only employ people it determines to be politically neutral.

This exemption also enables the TEC to refrain from using contractors who engage in political activity that undermines the integrity of the Commission.
