Ways to Vote at the 2018 House of Assembly Elections

The Tasmanian Electoral Commission provides a number of services to help you have your say in the Bass, Braddon, Denison, Franklin and Lyons House of Assembly elections.








Polling Day

Vote in person from 8am to 6pm Saturday 3 March 2018 at a polling place near you.

The TEC's electronic roll means you can vote at any polling place in Tasmania.

Pre-poll voting

 For electors who are:

How -

  1. You attend a pre-poll centre
  2. You declare you are unable to attend a polling place on polling day
  3. You record your vote + place it in the ballot box

When -

Pre-poll centres will be open in 12 Tasmanian locations.

Pre-poll voting centres in Burnie, Devonport, Glenorchy, Hobart, Kingston, Launceston and Sorell, will be open from Monday 19 February until Friday 2 March.

Pre-poll voting centres in Nubeena, Queenstown, Scottsdale, Smithton and St Helens, will be open on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 March.

Interstate pre-poll locations will be open from Monday 19 February. Voting services will be available during their normal business hours until their close of business on Friday 2 March. See below for details.





Postal vote

Postal Vote applications have now closed.

How:

  1. You apply for a postal vote
  2. We check your enrolment + send you a ballot pack
  3. You record your vote + post it back

When:

Returning your Vote -

You must record your vote before 6pm on polling day, Saturday 3 March

We can receive postal ballot papers until 10am Tuesday 13 March.





Express vote

Express Vote applications have now closed.

How:

  1. You apply for an express vote
  2. We check your eligibility + email or fax a ballot pack to you
  3. You print your ballot paper
  4. You record your vote, sign a declaration + email or fax back

When:

Returning your Vote -

You must return your express vote before 6pm on polling day, Saturday 3 March

Pre-poll Centres in Tasmania - open until 6pm Friday 2 March
